Mrs. Martha C. Hawkins, 50, of 408 Englewood Dr., died at 12:05 p.m. Sunday in Culver Hospital, several hours after suffering a heart attack. She was a native of Vevay Park, Ill., born Oct. 6, 1914 to Walter C. and Lenna Carroll Coffel. She married Jack Hawkins Oct. 9, 1932. A 1932 graduate of Crawfordsville High School, she was a member of the First Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary and Phi Chi Epsilon sorority. Surviving are the husband, employed at the post office; three daughters, Mrs. Shirley Thompson of Darlington, Mrs. Jackie Sue Moore of Boulder, Colo., and Marijane Hawkins, at home; a brother, Theron Coffel of Crawfordsville; three sisters, Mrs. Blanche Taggart of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mrs. Madge Howell of Johnstown, Ohio, and Mrs. Caroline Kennedy of Alexandria, Va., and six grandchildren. Preceding Mrs. Hawkins in death were her parents and three brothers. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Hunt and Son Funeral Home, Rev. Ralph M. Jones officiating, and burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call after 1 p. m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
